Many thanks to all the club representatives who gave up their time to attend last nights club meeting. A terrific turnout and a very positive meeting to take us into the new season.
The main items arising from the meeting were as follows: –
- Ice Allocation packs handed out. Packs for Clubs not represented are being posted out today (Friday 2nd August)
- An invitation from the Forfar Curling Centre Committee to all clubs who play out of Forfar Curling Centre to forward the name of a representative to assist FCCC by sitting on working groups to work on club & member development over the coming season. Please submit names as soon as possible, ideally prior to the next FCCC Executive committee meeting being held on 15th August, 2013.
- Curling Development Flyer style handouts were given to all clubs to help promote curling in every clubs own area. A small supply of the handouts are included in the packs given to clubs. More are available on request. Please contact the admin office on 01307 468668 or forward an e-mail to admin@forfarindoorsports.co.uk and then arrange to collect from the ice rink as they are quite heavy to post out.
- FCCC Junior Ice Discount Scheme: Details included in club packs
- FCCC Ice Cancellation Policy: Details included in club packs
- Coaching Days: Ladies 5th October & Gents 6th October: Details in club packs and on the website.
- Try Curling & Practice Ice Sessions: Open to all Sat 5th October & Sun 6th October 3pm to 5pm.
The key message arising from the meeting is that the focus for next season is clearly set on club and member development with a view to attracting new curlers to the sport and improving the skills of existing curlers who want to get more out of the game. If we can all work together to this aim we can ensure clubs grow stronger and curling at Forfar Curling Centre secures it’s future for many years to come. We also want to focus on bringing back the social aspects of the game and to help clubs organise social events that might help generate valuable funds for the clubs to assist towards their own development needs.
In the first instance please submit your representatives name ASAP in order that a direct communication route between FCCC and clubs can be built up.
