Who’s who

Owners/Directors:

Mike & Sandra Ferguson own and manage the sporting centre, having acquired the business from Brian & Alison Bonnyman in September 2009. Both keen curlers Mike & Sandra are passionate about making Forfar Indoor Sports a fun and friendly sports centre for all to enjoy their sports. They continue to drive the centre forward with new concepts and ideas. As Managing Director Mike is responsible for all sporting activities. Sandra manages the bar and catering services while also looking after Frosty’s Soft Play Centre.

Curling Manager:

Mike Ferguson is our Curling Manager, overseeing all curling-related matters, including competitions and bookings, with invaluable support from the FIS administrative team and the Forfar Curling Centre Club committee. As an experienced curler himself, Mike has a passion for the sport and the determination to ensure Curl-Forfar remains one of the best curling facilities in Scotland. Contact: mike@fis.scot

Accounts & Administration Services:

Gill Walker manages the facility accounts and other administrative tasks, including group & party bookings. Contact gill@fis.scot

Ice Maintenance Services:

When it comes to maintaining the high-quality ice at the curling centre and our ice skating rinks, our Senior Ice Technician, Andy Ferguson, takes great pride in producing excellent ice conditions for all to enjoy. Andy manages the ice team ably assisted by Keith Gibbs who work closely together to maintain the highest standard at all times. Contact andy@fis.scot

Bar, Cafe & Catering Services:

A highly motivated team of bar & catering staff operates the bar, cafe & catering services, managed by Sandra Ferguson and ably assisted by Shelley Farnan, along with an enthusiastic team of part-time staff. With the services offered by our bar, cafe and catering team expanding all the time we are pleased to have such a dedicated team keen to serve our customers and visitors alike. Curling Coaching:

We are very lucky to have a dedicated team of qualified curling coaches, all of whom do it simply through their love of the sport and a keenness to see curling continue to grow and develop at Curl-Forfar. Led by Brian Macartney (Coaching Convenor) & Lorraine Campbell (Coaching Co-ordinator) our coaches are here to support individual curlers and curling clubs throughout their curling journey. Ice Skating Coach:

Unfortunately, we don’t currently have an appointed ice skating coach and cannot therefore offer coached sessions or private lessons. We continue to search for a suitably qualified coach.

Ice Skating Stewards:

We have a delightful team of motivated, keen and trustworthy ice stewards who take great pride in ensuring all our skaters have a safe and fun time while enjoying their skating.

The majority of FIS staff have attended First Aid training courses and all benefit from in-house training to ensure high levels of customer service throughout.
