The last games of the Forfar Curling Centre Super Leagues Division 1 and 2 were completed on Monday night after a very tight and competitive season long competition.

Mike Ferguson's rink of Colin Inglis (Skip), Greg Drummond, Ron Caithness, Murray Young & Andrew Ferguson emerged as this season's champions taking first place on ends up over Adrian White's rink.

In Division 2 Gordon Craik's rink of Gordon Craik (Skip), Brian Binnie, Stuart Stark and Kerr Drummond were run away winners and secured promotion to Division 1 next season.

Well done to all rinks involved.

The Canadian Junior teams travelled to Forfar Curling Centre to practice in advance of the World Junior's which start at Dewars Rinks, Perth today (Friday). To follow the competition please visit http://www.wjcc2011.com/

Both teams enjoyed their time at Forfar and were particularly impressed with the mirrors something they hadn't seen before apparently. After the curling practice the teams headed off to St Andrews to see some of the local countryside and golfing activities.

Good luck to all teams in the World Junior Curling Championships but particulary to Eve Muirhead and John Penny's rink representing Scotland. Wins on home ice would be terrific.

Three rinks from Forfar Curling Centre made the long journey down to Borders Ice Rink in Kelso today (Thursday) to compete in the RCCC Maxwell Trophy needing 3 points and 5 ends to secure a place in the finals to be held at Murrayfield Ice Rink on Tuesday 15th March.

After 4 ends things weren't looking good for Forfar with one rink up and two down but the second half of the game witnessed a terrific turnaround with all three Forfar rinks emerging victorious and securing 6 points to take the team through to the finals where they will met Stranraer Ice Rink in the semi final. The other semi-final will be contested between Lockerbie and Murrayfield.

Well done to all and good luck in the finals.

Scores were: -

Don Stark 6 v Keith Prentice 4

Adrian White 8 v Colin Martin 6

Bill Thomson 8 v John Stark 5
